Sharing this from the archives this weekend. My little people have been fighting off a nasty respiratory infection all week, and it finally conquered me too.
While you read this, chances are I’ll be snuggled up with a warm baby boy, a quilt, and a cup of hot tea. Relying heavily on nap time and natural remedies this time of year. Stay warm and well, my friends!
Because that’s all the time I’m going to have between disinfecting floors, washing dirty linens, scrubbing my hands with soap and hot water, and cleaning up breakfast crumbs.
Yep, two of my four children have a tummy bug. We started out the day at break neck speed and the chaos hasn’t slowed down much.
My 14-month old spent his morning in the crib watching “Little Bear” on our lap top. (It seemed cleaner up there, considering the present condition of our floors.)
The three and five year olds took turns soiling their clothes (and the floors), and getting in and out of the bath tub.
The seven year old dressed herself, fed herself breakfast (thus the crumbs), and asked if she could please “take a break” from school work today. I said no.
My sister (God bless her!) finished the banana bread muffins I started, then cleaned up the mess I made in the kitchen while I cleaned up the mess my little people made on themselves (and the floors).
I called my sweet husband; would he please pick up celery and zuchinni so I can make a batch of Bieler Broth for my sick babies?
Yes, it’s definitely one of those mommy days you’re glad only comes every-so-often.
My eyelids feel like sandpaper. I’m (finally) dressed, but my clothes really don’t match. I’d rather not think about my hair.
Oh, and my copy of Loving the Little Years arrived in the mail today. Thank you, Lord.
Time to smile through the chaos.
I can handle today. Five minutes at a time.
