Hi there! I’m Kristy, and this year we’re doing MFW preschool, Learning God’s Story, and Exploring Countries & Cultures.  I’ve got 10 and 8 year old girls, and 6 and 4 year old little boys doing MFW this year (and a baby who generally sleeps through school time every morning!).  We’re about 5 weeks into our year-round homeschooling so far, and looking forward to another busy but great year!

Wife and Momma of two: One in Public High School, and I home school our youngest at home, we are doing Creation To Greeks this coming year .. Like most we enjoy the hands on approach and the idea of being able to move about in a pace thats beneficial to our family. We also incorporate a little of Switched On School House to help my son with his Math and Language Arts studies.

Hi my name is Theresa and we are using CTG this year with my 5th grader and our 10th grader will be sitting in on some of it as well. We’ve been using MFW for many years now but have tried a few other curriculums in-between. I always come back to MFW. :) We’ve done MFW-K and 1st, ECC (twice) CTG (starting 2nd rotation), RTR and Exploration to 1850.

We have four children, two have graduated from our homeschool and than our 10th and 5th graders. We live in MN and I blog very sporadically at Everyday Sacred. I’d like to get back to blogging about our schooling. My goal is once a week. :) Looking forward to being a part of the MFW blog roll and meeting other MFW families.

This will actually be my second year homeschooling. I already planned and purchased curriculum for my 2nd and 3rd graders. Then I discovered MFW. Well, I plan to start ECC next year. But i’m way more excited about next year than this year. I hope to glean as much info as I can. Thank you for letting me stalk in advanced.

Hi! My name is KC. I just found this blog on Pinterest. I am brand new to the homeschooling journey. I have two girls that are 5 & 3 and a 6 month old son. I am so brand new to MFW that I just heard about it, read about it and ordered it all yesterday. I couldn’t be more excited to do this curriculum. It sounds to be exactly what I was wanting for our homeschool. I just posted 2 new blogs about homeschooling today. I post about faith, family, weight loss, and now homeschooling!
You can follow my journey at http://www.gotomydoodlespot.blogspot.com

Thanks! I’m looking forward to reading about all of you all’s year with MFW!

  6. Sheryl says

Hi, my name is Sheryl and I’m a new homeschool mom with 2 boy’s ages 11 & 8. I’m excited and happy to have found MFW!

  7. says

Hello there, I’ll be using MFW First Grade this year with my soon-to-be six year old daughter starting after Labor Day! I also have a soon-to-be three year old son who will be along for the journey (and destroying everything that gets in his way!) We used MFW Kindergarten last year and really enjoyed it. I absolutely love Charlotte Mason, and even though we live in the big city of Brooklyn, NY, I do everything I can to make nature study a priority. I have written on Charlotte Mason and our Kindergarten journey some over at my blog http://www.myfreshwineskins.blogspot.com and hope to find the time to document our first grade year even more! I’m truly looking forward to all I’M going to learn this year! :)

  8. Priscilla says

My name is Priscilla and I’m a first time homeschooling mama! I have an almost 5 year old daughter who will be using the MFW Kindergarten curriculum starting next week. I also have a 2 year old and 1 year old. We’re excited and a little nervous about this new adventure! :)

  9. Michele Royce says

I’m new to homeschooling. My daughter is 7 and we are doing MFW Adventures in U.S. History. We just had our first week and so far its going okay, but I know that as we add more subjects its going to get hectic. This year will be all about finding balance. I have a 2 year old and trying to find the balance between the “freedom” homeschooling gives you and the need for structure and discipline too.

  10. Rebecca says

Hi! I’m Becky, mother of 10 yr old girl, and 3 boys -9 yr, 5 yr , and 6 months. We have used MFW for over 5 years now, and will be starting RTR and A-Z Kindergarten soon. Looking forward to a busy year and reading about all of ya’lls adventures this year.

  11. says

I am Victoria. I have 2 kids – 16 and 11. They both have some special learning needs. We will be doing 1850 to Modern Times this year. We started with the Adventures program and have moved up from there. You can see the different things we have done each year on my blog (starting with ECC): http://sonsetacademy.blogspot.com

  12. says

Hello! My name is Darleen, and I have 3 children, ages 4, 3, & 2! I’m also expecting another wee one in mid-March!
I’m starting our school year in September. I’m going to be using the MFW kinder for my 4 year old, and the MFW preschool with my 3 year old! We’re excited about it!
I look forward to hearing from you mamas!

  13. Nikki says

Hi everyone! This is my first year homeschooling. We are using MFW K (5 year old) and my preschooler (3 1/2) is tagging along (I also have a one year old and another on the way in two months!). I really do love it (so far) but struggle with the thought it may be too easy (I’m going to go check out your post about that!). I am over the moon with the thought that I can (soon) teach all of my children the same core topics together! Thanks for hosting this so I can find some blogs to glean some inspiration. And I love that you open this up to non-bloggers! Thanks :)

    • says

Thanks for participating, Nikki! I appreciate the feedback about opening up the blogroll to non-bloggers… I’m really enjoying connecting with you ladies here!

  14. Whitney says

Hi! My name is Whitney:-) We have 3 wonderful children-our 8 year old son is in 4th grading & in ECC & we are starting our 4 1/2 year old daughter in kindergarten this year. We also have a 3 year old son who I know will gladly want to join in too! Love MFW so far-excited for this school year & working with 2 kiddos!

  15. says

Hi! I’m Abbie and I’ve been homeschooling for seven years! Wow crazy to think about that!
Anyway, I have five children – three girls and two boys ranging from 11 years, down to 1. Last year was my first year using MFW. I used it for my first grader and FELL. IN. LOVE!!!
So this year we are using it exclusively with all my children (except of course with the addition of math and language arts.)
I am very excited to get this school year started and excited to know about the MFW blog! I’m sure I’ll find it very helpful :)
I highly recommend MFW to anyone looking for a new curriculum, or anyone who may be on the fence about trying it. ;)

  16. Jen says

Hi, I’m Jen, and this year will be my first year homeschooling. I am doing MFW Kinder and Adventures for my second grader. I also have an almost 2 yr old & a 2 month old- this should be an adventure for sure :)

  17. Shay says

Hi! I am Shay, mom of 5 kids and on our 11th year of homeschooling. We are using CtG this year and the 10th grade World History. I have always used MFW kindergarten and last year did 1850 to Modern times…it was a wonderful year! Looking forward to this year too! Blessings everybody!

    • says

      Hi Shay!

I am not doing a literal “link up” this year. In order to open it up to those who are not bloggers, I am simply hosting the blogroll on this post via comments.

Thank you so much for participating!

  18. says

Hi! I’m Ally, and this is our FIRST year homeschooling! We’re starting our oldest with MFW 1st Grade. I have a soon to be 6 year old girl, and 4 and 2 year old boys. My 4yo is attending traditional Pre-K for help with his speech this, but he’ll be in our homeschool mix next year! We are also in the process of adoption a toddler girl from China! We are super excited (and nervous) to start the homeschool journey. Please visit the blog to keep up with our “organized chaos!”

  19. says

Hi everyone! I’m Melissa, and this year we’re doing MFW Explorers to 1850. This is our 4th year using MFW and we LOVE it! This year, I have an 8th grader and 6th grader working on MFW. I also have a high schooler who started with MFW but found the load too difficult for him so I have it in storage waiting for next year. :) We are starting back next week and I think everyone is excited to start back!

    Our homeschool blog is http://gchomeschool.com

    Hey there fellow MFW mammas!
I’m Rhiannan, and this year we’re doing Learning God’s Story. We have 6 and 4 year old girls that I’ll be teaching with this curriculum this year, as well as an extremely busy 2 year old boy that I’ll be chasing around as well!

This is actually our second year of homeschooling, but our first year using the MFW curriculum. We’re already finishing up Week 3 since we’ve decided to school year round!

I’m still pretty new at blogging, so I love the ability to link up with others using the curriculum!

  21. Shana says

I have used MFW at different times and this year we are using CTG. I desperately needed a manageable schedule and will add what is needed to make it age / grade appropriate. We use Teaching Textbooks for math and so far I love that too. I don’t blog but am so thankful for moms that do so I can get ideas to make school more interesting for my little blessings :-)

  22. says

I’m Casey. I will be using MFW ECC this year for my 3rd grader, with his 1st grade sister tagging along. She’ll also be doing MFW 1st (without the science). I also have 2 little boys, 2 1/2 and 8 months. This should be an interesting year! My blog is: http://www.simplejoycrafting.blogspot.com. I will be blogging about ECC this year as we go. I have already blogged about our years with K, 1st, and Adventures, so come take a look! Happy homeschooling to everyone!

  23. Karen Sloan says

I’m a first year homeschooler of 2 precious girls, ages 10 and 7. We are starting with MFW ECC in a couple of weeks and I’m very excited! I’m not a blogger…yet.

Hello! My name is Wendy and this will be our second year homeschooling. My daughter will be in 7th grade. Last year we used MFW ECC and I blogged about our adventures. This year our adventures continue with CTG & RTR squished into one year (trying to cover the cycle before 9th grade). Please stop by our blog and say hi!

We begin using MFW, God’s Creation From A to Z with our oldest this year. We are excited to get started and I am looking forward to exploring what has worked well for other families. I’m a little apprehensive about homeschooling with four children five and under but we’re looking forward to it nonetheless. Thanks for sharing, Kristy!

  28. Dee says

My name is Dee and we homeschool in Texas. This year I will have a 4th grader doing Creation to the Greeks and a 5 yo and 4yo who will be doing MFW Kindergarten. We are excited to get starting in a week and a half! This will be our third year homeschooling and we have used My Father’s World since the beginning! We love it!

  29. kimberly says

We are getting ready to start our third year of MFW. We will be doing Creation to the Greeks…it looks amazing! Every year I have learned so much. I often tell my husband I think I enjoy it more than the children!
My school children’s ages are 11, 10, and 7. We also have a 2 1/2 year old (who will want to sit at the table and participate in some things), a one year old, and our sixth sweet baby due at the end of October.
I do not have a blog but look forward to, once again, gleaning ideas from everyone!

  30. Christine says

Hello, My name is Christine. I will be finishing Countries & Cultures with my 7 & 9 year old daughters this year. Last year we did parts of ECC and added in a few countries that weren’t covered. Two of my older children were out of the country (Taiwan & Cambodia) so we wanted to make sure and learn about those specific places. My oldest daughter is leaving again for Taiwan and one of my sons for Mozambique in the next few weeks. It has been the perfect time for us to study geography. I am hoping to start a blog soon and then I’ll be able to join in with the blogroll for real. :)

  31. Emily says

Hi, my name is Emily and I have 2 sweet girls. Briley is 9 (4th) and Brooke is 7 (2nd). We have been homeschooling for 4 years now and love it! We are excited to start ECC next week. I hear it’s the best year of MFW!

    Hi I’m Vicki Mama to 7. I’ve been,using MFW for 6 years now. We are currently using 1850~Modern and 1st with a 8th, 6th, th, 2nd, 1st and 2 prek.

  33. says

I am Paula and my family will begin CtG in September. We began MFW last year. I stumbled on to MFW when a catalog arrived in my mail. I had never heard about MFW before. At first I was skeptical at about a non textbook approach (public schooled kid). It was about half way through our first year of homeschooling. We were using mostly BJU and Saxon at the time. I was going back and forth between my children, trying to teach them individually. Long story short, I prayed about and made the switch. :)

  34. Karen H says

Hi fellow MFW mamas! My name is Karen and I am excited to begin another year learning with MFW. We will be doing RtR with our 10 yr old daughter and Adv with her brother. He is autistic and has multiple learning challenges. We did CtG last year with both of them together and it was WAY over his head, so this year I’m going back to using separate lessons for each of them. I have used MFW from K forward and really like the curriculum. It is very Bible focused and really does a good job of giving a Biblical worldview perspective. I don’t have a blog, but wanted to connect with other MFW families.

  35. says

Hello families! My name is Jackie and we’ll be enjoying Exploration to 1850 with our 5th and 8th grade children, then World History and Literature (WHL) with our 10th grader. My blog is currently being resurrected, so I will be sharing our journey there very soon. Welcome and bless all your homes!

  36. says

This will be my first year homeschooling and I am excited to be using MFW! My blog is not dedicated to homeschooling, but I hope to post occasionally with some fun things ;) So happy to be here!!!

I have a 4 year old in MFWK, a 2 year old with abcjesuslovesme.com, and a 9 mos old wreaking havoc everywhere. All girls, so lots of pink and fun here! Hoping to blog/journal our school year @http://wholeheartedhomemaking.wordpress.com

  37. says

I am so excited. This is my first time joining something like this. We have used My Father’s World for a few years; started with my oldest in Kindergarten some time ago. Dusting that one off for my not so little guy this year and just got Exploring Countries and Cultures the other day. Exciting stuff :-)

  38. says

Hey Kristy! Will you be hosting this MFW Blogroll for the 2014-2015 school year? I sure hope so, as i was not as active as I would have liked to this year. I am working on doing so this new year! We will be using Exploration-1850 and WHL for high school.

  39. says

I am momma to three girls; 5 months, 3 years and 5 years going on 12. Ha! We will begin homeschooling this fall. I have used the preschool hands on activities from MFW for both my girls and they really enjoyed it. I am still trying to decide fully on what curriculum to use this fall for kindergarten. MFW has always caught my attention but I am apprehensive of being able to juggle it all. Thoughts?

    • says

Melanie, forgive me, your comment somehow slipped through without my notice!

Regarding MFW curriculum: right now, I homeschooling my 10 year old, 8 yr old, 6 yr old and 4 yr old and using MFW preschool through 5th grade. I “juggle” it all by doing read alouds together, and working one-on-one with each child on grade appropriate subjects (like math or phonics).

My 10 year old does a lot of her school on her own, but the younger ones require a lot of help at this point. While I work with one child, I’ll let the others take a break to play outside, look at books, work a puzzle, or have a snack.

My days are very, very busy but we do have a sense of order and routine. Our goal is to finish school by lunch (usually around 12:30 or 1:00), and it’s a rare day that we don’t accomplish that!

I hope this helps out with your question! If you decide to go with MFW curriculum, I’d love for you to join my blogroll and connect with other MFW mamas! This year’s blogroll link is right here: My days are very, very busy but not chaotic.

  40. Sasha Peterson says

I would love to add the button to my blog, but I can’t seem to get to work. Am I doing something wrong? Help, please!! :)

  41. Brandi says

I’m sorry, I have no idea to get added on here. It’s not working for me either or I am doing it wrong. Sorry. My name is Brandi and we are doing Exploring Countries & Cultures in MFW. My kids are grades 2nd & 4th (this is our first year).

  42. kewkew says

I also wasn’t able to get the code to work, so I saved the image to my computer and added it as an “Image” and just linked to this page. I hope that was okay. Thanks for the linky. Now to find the time to go check out all these other MFW moms

  43. Stevie says

I’ve submitted my link above, but would like to change the image from the Linky Tools icon to something more personalized. How do I do this?

  44. Melanie Robinson says

I am sorry, but every time I paste the code into my html gadget it does not work. Anybody else have this issue?

  45. Jen says

i don’t have a blog, but we use MFW and currently will be using Rome to the Reformation and preschool :)

  46. Jackie says

Thanks for hosting this awesome blogroll! I am new to blogging and am so excited to be able to share this with others. I had initially posted my blog info (#7) before changing it (#21). Would you be able to delete the #7 blog I had shared on the blogroll? We decided to use Blogger, hence the reason for the change. Sorry about that!

  47. April says

I have opened the box with all the goodies from MFW Deluxe Kindergarten curriculum and am excited to start in a few weeks with my oldest’s second year of homeschooling. I used A Beka K4 last year with her and while she loved doing her “activities”, the worksheets really weren’t her cup of tea. She does have a strong phonics foundation to build on now but I wanted to focus on character building and hands on learning this year. I LOVE that there are so many facets to the Deluxe package and that history and music are even in the mix. I am praying I can get all the hands on stuff done each day with a one year old, working my own business, and homeschooling my oldest.

  48. Kari says

We started using MFW last year for my high schooler, 9th grade Ancients. My son really enjoyed this last year. The curriculum was put together very well. We will be continuing to use it throughout high school. Yesterday, I ordered Adventures for two of my younger children and the toddler package for my 2 year old. I am really looking forward to using MFW with my younger children this year. I love that I can teach younger children together. I have 5 children (15,7,5,2, and a baby), so this is very important to me and takes a lot of stress off of me. I also love how the curriculum is laid out and the planning is done. Saves so much of my time! Really looking forward to getting started with it this summer (we do year round schooling too).

  49. says

This will be our first year as well, and we are year round homeschoolers so we’ve already dabbled in the first three weeks of the Exploring Countries and Cultures. :) So far we are LOVING it!

  50. says

I don’t use My Father’s World but they are an amazing ministry and family! David and his daughter Alida visited the ministry in Mexico where I live a few years ago.

  51. says

Shecki, the buttons look the same but have been updated to the 2013-2014 school year! I don’t have a “grab” code at this point… just save the button you want to your computer, add it to your sidebar, and link it back here. I’ll see if my blog designer can help me generate a “grab” code soon to make things easier. :)

  52. Sarah D. says

I am Sarah and this coming year (July!) we’re switching to MFW for the first time. We’re super excited! I will be teaching Kindergarten and Year 4 of the Multi-Age Cycle. I don’t have a blog, either, but I’m really excited about next year and any ideas folks might have since this is a completely new curriculum for us.

  53. Kimberly says

My name is Kimberly and this year we are doing Exploring Countries & Cultures in MFW, 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades. I don’t have a blog, but am so excited to get ideas for our upcoming school year.
